Migration Policy
Our Migration Policy service focuses on the seamless transfer of data and systems to new platforms or environments.
1. Introduction
1.1 By requesting a migration to Prowject, you hereby authorise our team to utilise third-party services to access your current hosting accounts for the purpose of securely transferring data to Prowject’s servers.
1.2 It is your sole responsibility to back up all data hosted with your current provider, as well as any accounts designated for migration to Prowject.
2. Data Overwriting and Liability
2.1 Please be aware that during the migration process, existing data in your Prowject account may be overwritten to ensure a smooth transition.
2.2 Prowject and its team operate under a liability release principle, meaning we are not responsible for any potential data loss, corruption, or issues that may arise during the migration process.
3. Governance and Timing
3.1 All aspects of the migration service are governed by Prowject’s terms and conditions, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
3.2 While our team strives to complete most migrations within a few hours, complex transfers may require additional time to ensure thorough processing.
4. Fees and Cancellation
4.1 It is important to note that while many migrations are complimentary, fees may apply under certain circumstances depending on the complexity of the migration.
4.2 We strongly advise against canceling services with your current provider until data has been securely backed up, your website has been thoroughly tested on Prowject servers, and DNS settings have been properly updated.
5. Email Migration and Backups
5.1 Although Prowject endeavors to transfer all data seamlessly, email migration may be subject to limitations based on system compatibility.
5.2 We strongly recommend maintaining comprehensive backups of all data on your current host’s server before initiating the migration process, as Prowject does not provide pre-migration backups.
6. Guidelines and Acknowledgment
6.1 This document serves as a guide to ensure a smooth and secure transfer of your data to Prowject.
6.2 We encourage you to review these guidelines carefully before proceeding with your migration request.
6.3 Prowject is not liable for any unforeseeable data loss or site crash. As a precaution, we advise you to save a backup with your current host.
6.4 By proceeding with your migration request, you acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
